Ranger Selection and Training Company Barracks Facility Opens
FORT BENNING, GA – The Regimental Special Troops Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment is scheduled to open the newly renovated Ranger Assessment and Selection Program barracks facility--Building 2832 Aug. 12 at 1 p.m.
Building 2832 is the first of three Ranger Selection and Training Company barracks to undergo renovation in support of the Regiment’s Ranger Assessment and Selection Programs.
The building has been under construction for about 12 months. It will house 32 RASP 2 students on the 1st floor and 236 RASP 1 students on the second and third floor in open bay style barracks. The building also has two classrooms, cadre offices and a locker room.
This facility will greatly improve the Selection and Training Company’s ability to supply the 75th Ranger Regiment with men prepared to rapidly join the fight within their assigned battalions.
The renovation of Building 2832 is phase one of three to renovate all of the Selection and Training Buildings from their original state of construction in the mid-1950’s .
About the Ranger Assessment and Selection Programs
The Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 1 is an eight-week course that trains Soldiers in the rank of private through xergeant in the basic skills and tactics required to operate in Regiment.
Upon completion of this course, Soldiers will have the advanced skills, training, and confidence to be a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment.
The RASP 2 is a 21-day course for Soldiers in the rank of Staff Sergeant and above, and all officers volunteering for assignment to the 75th Ranger Regiment.
This course assesses the suitability of mid-and senior grade leaders for assignment to the Regiment, and teaches them the operational techniques and standards of the Ranger Regiment.
This course provides training in the special tactics, equipment, and missions that make the Regiment unique. Upon successful completion of this course, applicants will be assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment.
