1st SFG (A) Dies From Wounds in Combat
JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, WA – A Special Forces Soldier died Jan. 15, from injuries sustained when his unit was engaged by enemy small-arms fire in Konduz Province, Afghanistan.
Sgt. 1st Class Benjamin B. Wise, 34, was assigned to Company A, 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
A native of El Dorado, Ark., he enlisted in the U.S. Army in November 2000 as an infantryman.
