  1. Emotional Roller Coaster

Most of you know of my medical issues as well is other issues in my life. I have been pretty out and open about who I am, where I’ve been, what I’ve done and how I feel about things. I have received some of the greatest advice, kicks to the nuts and other wise good friendship from this community and I appreciate the hell out of it.

I am basically being told it’s time to go to the medical evaluation board and say my good byes to the Army. I had come to the conclusion that this would ...

  2. My Background

Due to recent posts/ comments around the forum, I came to the conclusion that in some of the things I have posted it is important to give my background. Instead of having to do that every post I figured it better to do it in a blog.

    Military Background:

US Army NG Infantry JR. NCO with roughly 27 months in Iraq over two deployments and 8 years total service. Served in a verity of light & scout infantry positions to include fire team leader and sniper team leader. ...

    This'll be one to follow:

The 24 yeqr-old person-of-interest has been recently employed as a limo driver around Denver Airport where, according to his co-workers, "he's just a kid..;" it's very conceivable that he and/or his father are involved in a jihadist bomb plot cell. Next, he gave conflicting answers to LEO's, then "broke off talks with the FBI," and lawyered ...

  5. Desperate Lands: The War on Terror Through The Eyes of a Special Forces Soldier

DESPERATE LANDS is the unprecedented story of U.S. Army Special Forces Soldiers and the missions they have carried out while fighting the war on terror in Horn of Africa and in Afghanistan.

The book is unique and timely, in that it tells the compelling story of our nation's struggle and of its soldiers fighting a new and different war never fought before-a Global War on Terror.

The true story comes at a time when our nation has divided feelings and opinions about the ...

  6. Three Hour Tour.....

Went sailing this weekend on the Chesapeake.

Characters invloved: my former executive assistant (Bev), her boyfriend (one of my reserve Majors - an SF type, Bill), and me.

    It was Bill's boat.

We left the marina about 1230 on Friday for a 20-mile crossing to St. Michael's, a harbour/tourist town on the eastern shore of Maryland. The plan was to anchor there Fri/Sat night and come home Sunday.

Winds were mostly at our back (10-15 kts) and ...

  7. Boys, guys, men....

I can't seem to get away from them, nor the heartache that they always seem to bring. What in the world was I thinking joining the military, which is mainly occupied by males?!! Haha...I think that's all I was thinking about at the time. Just kidding. Anyway, is it true that it is more difficult to sustain a healthy relationship in the military with another military member? In other words, do you suggest I have a relationship with a civilian, or no boyfriend at all, while in tech school? I'm assuming ...

  8. Whatever...

So I am going to be stuck here a lot longer than I had expected. When I say "here", I'm referring to Sheppard AFB. It's so tiny, it's almost depressing. Anyway, I haven't been on here in forever. I miss everyone. Well, Happy Easter!! Take care.

  9. GOTCHA!

Even though things here have been retardedly busy, here at the shop we've managed to find time to get in on the April Fool's action. My roomie hatched this brain chicken the other day, and a few of us were read in on what was going to happen. So this morning, my roomie put her plan into action.

A little background story before I go any further... Earlier in this deployment, we picked up a supply sergeant who (for lack of a better term) had some "issues". Ok, that girl ...

  10. It's 2200, do you know where your head gear is?

It's been a while since I've actually sat down and posted a blog. Things have been pretty busy. But I finally have something that I can freely share without having to tap dance with OPSEC.

As I'm sure everyone knows, when we're not out harvesting HE from the countryside, EOD techs can be a bunch of pranksters. Well, some time back, I left myself open to such an opportunity. I left my head gear sitting unattended in the TOC. The usual punishment for such a lapse usually involves ...
