Thanks for the reply, and the quick run down. So looks like a good 5 years, and BIG IFs.

Also, I was saying "pull me in" purely in jest. I'm sorry, I didn't think of what everybody else says before I posted... Or how that comment would be taken, since it wasn't serious... Obviously it's (more than) hard work and not for everybody. Otherwise you wouldn't be "special", right. ;)

anyways, I didn't mean to irk you by the comment. Like I said, I respect what you do/have done. Road to get where you are and all. I will also never say it again. Jokes or not. And honestly, thanks for the reply.

I understand what your saying, I just see and hear a lot of people saying they can do the job no problem. And to clear the air I am not currently serving in either of the SOF units within CANSOFCOM. The only reason I know what the process is and how you try to get into a unit like that is because I was in the process of it all before I was told I was going overseas.

I can vouch for your statements having been inside that command, although in a direct support role; I have first hand knowledge of how tough it is to gain entry into any of the units in CANSOFCOM. I know of some serious soldiers that have tried and failed. Although given the nature of the CF as a whole and the use of conventional units in unconventional ways; it's not always necessary to be in SOF to do some "cool guy" shit.

Sorry for stepping on your toes about getting back to that guy gdamadg, I just thought something needed to be said.

Now that I can vouch for, being in Light Infantry battalion I would know first hand about all that good 'fun' stuff lol :)

Of course Royals have fun, we have rules when we do it but there's still fun in some things lol. Ya the big day is coming up, should be a good time as long as Heathrow doesn't fuck us over.

No worries, you were justified in doing it. ;) I was just backing you up, it needed to be done and I rarely have the energy for it any more. lol Some of these kids just need a good smack up side the head.

    :) Thanks dgamadg!
For the record, I'm seriously considering joining, and when/if I do, I'll seriously try my best going down that road. Lots of ifs, but shit, you gotta try if you want it. The alternative is pretty clear. I really didn't mean to come off as some smart ass that assumes he'll be able to coast through. Mea Culpa!! I know this won't be easy. I know this will be so fucking hard, it's highly likely I won't make it. I'm not delusional here.

If any CF personnel has tips for an aspiring civ, please feel free to pm me with your thoughts.

If it's something you want you will do your best at it. That's all you can do and if your not someone they are looking for then they will tell you. I have had many friends finish AP for JTF-2 and they told them they are not the individual they are looking for, sucks to be them but it happens quiet regularly.

Those first pics are just stance shots. Show people how to take a proper stance when doing gunfighter type shooting.

Its from 2004.... When Aristide was kicked out. We sent CANSOF with a company from the RCR to first do a Non combatant Extration mission, which turned into a 6 month tour.
