1st SFG (A) Dies From Wounds in Combat

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, WA A Special Forces Soldier died Jan. 15, from injuries sustained when his unit was engaged by enemy small-arms fire in Konduz Province, Afghanistan.

Sgt. 1st Class Benjamin B. Wise, 34, was assigned to Company A, 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.

A native of El Dorado, Ark., he enlisted in the U.S. Army in November 2000 as an infantryman.

  1. So sad about this. My step-daughter's neighbor and best friend's husband. And Ben's poor mother, this is her second son lost to war in less than two years.

  2. Why don't we just get out of that giant litterbox and bring all our guys and gals home whee they belong. They all hate us anyway, so let them fight their own battles. We have enough battles to fight right here at home. May Sgt. Wise RIP and God bless his family and help to ease their loss.
