All I have to say is,....Holy Shit! This is by far one of the craziest Vietnam and life story that I have heard. You see the author going from an immature shit head, to a warrior who loses his way and finds it back. Man the stuff they could get away with back then. Great read, definitely in my list of Vietnam war books.

Read it years ago. IIRC author was SF then got sent to recon with 101st before ending up with the Phoenix program. Ending was a surprise but all and all a good read.
