Yes you are correct, the Pacific Northwet, is wet, wetter, and wettest. Except for sometime during the course of a year, when for a hour you can, if your really lucky, see across the street and maybe mountain or two. Being more than a mile away from any structure, hill or mountain does not guarantee a person will see in their life time. But we can dream. I should keep my dreams out of the thread. Anyways, back to lifeboat drills. Yes even ski resorts have life boat drills. Cars here, are required by the Coast Guard to carry floatation gear, Class III-V PFDs.



Oh yeah, White Water Rescue course is a part of driver's Ed here too.

.... now I descent caves...

I used to do a lot of caving too, corner between Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia here in the U.S. has a lot of good caves.

Mara, yes there are some beautiful lime stone caves. We once took the kids to the big cave in Tennessee and Kentucky. If memory is right, they are the largest in the US.

That was probably Mammoth Cave, I hear it's great.

We did most of our caving in Georgia, northwest corner, near Lafayette.
