I’m not in the all-source section but we do work together.

Intelligence Specialist (Operations)

Responsibilities
  • Serves as the 75th Regimental Intelligence Specialist for various disciplines that impact Ranger Operations.
  • Represents the command as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst during coordination and liaison with counterparts throughout the national Intelligence Community (IC).
  • During deployments assumes duties as the Intelligence Liaison Officer between the Joint Task Force, other commands, and National Agencies.
  • Attends conferences and meetings held by the various government and military intelligence agencies in furtherance of the information needs of the command as dictated by contingency plans.

It surprises me that an operational deploying job like that isn't an AD position. I'm also surprised that there's no mention in the job description of physical fitness or need to carry a weapon. I know working in the TOC, there's little to no need to be armed, but...

The job most likely will require constructive possession of a firearm.

I've never seen a job on USA Jobs that required you to carry a firearm that didn't list it in the job description. IIRC, 18USC922 requires it. :hmm:

All units of this type have civilian 0132 senior analyst since they are viewed as the continuity. PT standards aren’t required but a physical is (assume it‘s to TDY) but I don’t think the lautenberg amendment would apply unless a firearm is considered essential for the position.

Times have changed. I never saw a civilian employee or contractor at the regimental or battalion level in the Corps. The flying squadrons would have a Sikorsky representative, but they never left the airfield.

I went from DOD to Army civ in 2016 (back to DOD 18 months later) and they were there. Even dep G3 was civ.
