So, our department is going to adopt the new Glock 45 for uniform use, basically its the 19x (19 slide on a 17 lower), but black....I like the idea of it...currently carry the Glock 19.
Has anyone played with one?

(Dammit...meant to put this in the weapons forum)

Looks like a great sidearm. Best of both worlds for a full sized Glock.

My G17 fits my hand perfectly. So, I would imagine if your hands are medium to large that the G17 lower will feel very comfortable w/out added grip tape or anything. The 19 is great as you know, but this new G45 sounds like true Glock perfection. A good move on Glocks behalf and not for just the sake of marketing.

Certainly a nice and thoughtful addition for your dept. as well. After a trip or two to the range please post your review. I’d love to hear your findings.

I am looking forward to it, it will be issued to every Officer and mandatory use for any uniform duty...to include part time...etc, CID and plainclothes can still use the 19 or 43.

Good to hear of positive use.

Plan is for issuing in January 2019.
