Not Work Safe Confucius say...Hum-V falling from airplane...

Unit
This is why we never dropped anything but beat up pieces of shit on practice or demo LAPES drops. In fact, we dropped the same palleted jeep so many times it was only about a foot tall.
Unit at Selfridge dropped railroad ties, we offered a CUCV, and they said no (losers).

**UPDATE**

A Germany-based cavalry scout was convicted Wednesday of destruction of government property and making a false official statement for his role in a botched Humvee air drop that destroyed three of the vehicles during an April 2016 training exercise.

A judge found Sgt. John Skipper, who was in charge of verifying that the parachutes were properly rigged, had intentionally cut their straps, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage, according to a 7th Army release.

“Skipper was sentenced to a reduction in grade to E-1 and a Bad Conduct Discharge by a court-martial panel consisting of enlisted soldiers and officers,” the release said.

...goes boom if it does not open chute.

NSFW due to language - I get the humor of things that can go wrong, but it was somewhat odd at the absolute glee the soldier filming the event had over the spectacle.

The soldier filming on the ground (An E-7) who could be heard cheering and laughing, received a letter of reprimand last year for his unprofessional conduct both on camera and in sharing the video.

Cav Scout Rigger. Bet he had a good laugh when he was cutting those straps. He got off lucky with a BCD for an intentional article 108.

PV1 Skipper got off easy. They should have sent him to Kansas for a year to really make a point.

The SFC filming (and the entire DZ Crew) are jackasses, they should have called a no-drop after the second vehicle burned in. The S in DZSO stands for SAFETY, not STUPID (or SHITHEAD)

100% Agree, it took a little work, but they found how/where he cut/taped the straps. I am sure he created additional work for Riggers worldwide. Not to mention any personal gear that may have been destroyed in the vehicles.
